microTECH Global LTD in Helsinki, Finland seeks an experienced imaging researcher to drive system-level innovation for next-generation smartphone camera hardware. You will explore technologies, define concepts, and guide projects from early stage to prototyping while collaborating with optics, actuators, imaging algorithms, sensors and systems engineering teams.

You will build collaborations with universities and industry partners, monitor mobile imaging trends, and translate new developments

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Optical/Photonics, Imaging, or related field.
• 3–5 years in smartphone cameras, camera modules, imaging optics, or consumer imaging systems.
• Strong understanding of camera system architecture and inter-component interactions.
• Experience moving from concept to prototypes and validation.
• Excellent English and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Responsabilités

• Drive system-level innovation for next-generation smartphone camera hardware.
• Explore emerging technologies and identify opportunities in camera modules and imaging architectures.
• Develop imaging concepts and evaluate feasibility, value, and impact.
• Lead or contribute to camera innovation projects from concept to prototyping and validation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary R&D teams including optics, actuators, imaging algorithms, sensors, and systems engineering.
• Build and manage research collaborations with universities, technology partners, and industry groups.
• Monitor mobile imaging trends and translate developments into actionable research directions.
• Provide technical insight and system-level guidance for strategic camera planning.
