Job summary

Bittium Wireless Oy is seeking a passionate technologist to lead the ways of working across all software development within the group. You will define engineering standards, set group-wide workflows, determine release quality criteria, and author a practical engineering handbook for teams to follow while maintaining hands-on involvement.

Fluent Finnish and good English are required, with the ability to influence across firmware, web frontends, and embedded systems.

Qualifications

• A software engineering background strong enough to hold your own with our senior engineers.
• Track record of changing how teams work, with modern tooling and workflows.
• Strong opinions, hands-on leadership, and willingness to own the outcome.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps and the engineering platform: VCS, CI/CD, test automation, docs.
• Experience working with diverse stacks (C/C++, Python, TypeScript/Node.js, embedded Linux, FPGA).
• Fluent in Finnish and good English.
• Citizenship and SUPO security clearance eligibility due to customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance what modern software engineering means at Bittium, setting the standard for all teams.
• Set the group-wide engineering workflow including version control, branching, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Decide the quality bar for releases, including test automation and documentation requirements.
• Author an engineering handbook with senior engineers for practical, reusable guidance.
• Help shape how engineering health is measured and tracked across the organization.
