Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC retrofit and installation projects in data center environments, with a focus on chillers.

You will support projects from initiation through completion, ensuring technical quality, on-site coordination, and reliable execution. The role requires extensive HVAC project experience, submittal preparation, MOS, risk assessments, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in HVAC projects and system installations.
• Experience preparing MOS, submittals, and project docs.
• Experience managing site execution and coordinating stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and safety regulations.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC retrofit and installation projects from initiation to completion.
• Plan, design, and implement HVAC systems for retrofit activities.
• Conduct detailed site surveys and inspections to assess project requirements.
• Prepare and review MOS, risk assessments, and work schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, internal teams, and suppliers for approvals, clarifications, and execution support.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and supervise installation activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to HVAC systems and equipment.
• Ensure HVAC installations comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
• Monitor quality on site and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Identify and procure the materials and equipment needed for project delivery.
• Manage resources efficiently to support project progress and profitability.
• Track delivery against schedule, budget, and quality expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
