Job summary

Ramboll in Finland seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to develop data center power infrastructure and lead electrical design teams across multidisciplinary projects.

You will join the Nordics Data Center Facilities group, collaborating with global specialists while coordinating with local teams in Finland. The role offers a hybrid work model and emphasis on professional growth and sustainable design.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects from concept through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Design and oversee critical power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, utility intake, switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, grounding, and related electrical systems.
• Ensure technical compliance, safety, and quality by applying standards, codes, authority requirements, client specs, and internal design principles.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including mechanical, civil, structural, automation, ICT/BMS, consultants, contractors, utilities, authorities, and clients.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering assurance, including reviewing drawings, calculations, SDs, studies, specs, equipment selections, risk assessments, and documentation.

Your new role

As our new Lead Electrical Engineer, you will work to create Data Center solutions for our clients. You will be part of our Nordics group for Data Center Facilities in Finland cooperating with our global organization. You will work as part of passionate teams filled with talents from all over the world, your core colleagues are in locations Finland, but you’ll also become part of our Global Data Center Spearhead and will benefit from +150 Data Center specialists in the Nordics, U.K., U.S.A., India, and Asia as your new colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.

• Ensure technical compliance, safety, and quality by applying relevant standards, codes, authority requirements, client specifications, and internal design principles.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including mechanical, civil, structural, automation, ICT/BMS systems, consultants, contractors, vendors, utilities, authorities, and clients.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering assurance, including reviewing drawings, calculations, single-line diagrams, studies, specifications, equipment selections, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

• A thorough understanding of digital design delivery through Revit/BIM 360.
• Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts to our clients and project team partners in plain language, verbally and in writing.
