Job summary

Ramboll Finland seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure safety and quality across MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers,UPS, generators, and grounding.

You will contribute to a global Data Center Spearhead within Ramboll, collaborating with international experts and leveraging BIM 360 for digital design delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading electrical design teams in multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience designing or constructing data center facilities.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to clients and project teams.
• Understanding of digital design delivery through BIM tools such as Revit/BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee critical power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, wiring, and grounding.

Your new role

As our new Lead Electrical Engineer, you will work to create Data Center solutions for our clients. You will be part of our Nordics group for Data Center Facilities in Finland cooperating with our global organization. You will work as part of passionate teams filled with talents from all over the world, your core colleagues are in locations Finland, but you’ll also become part of our Global Data Center Spearhead and will benefit from +150 Data Center specialists in the Nordics, U.K., U.S.A., India, and Asia as your new colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Design and oversee critical power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, utility intake, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, backup power, grounding, bonding, and related electrical systems.
• Ensure technical compliance, safety, and quality by applying relevant standards, codes, authority requirements, client specifications, and internal design principles.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including mechanical, civil, structural, automation, ICT/BMS systems, consultants, contractors, vendors, utilities, authorities, and clients.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering assurance, including reviewing drawings, calculations, single-line diagrams, studies, specifications, equipment selections, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

• Experience with designing or constructing data center facilities.
• Experience working as a consulting electrical engineer.
• A thorough understanding of digital design delivery through Revit/BIM 360.
• Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts to our clients and project team partners in plain language, verbally and in writing.
