Job summary

Aidian in Espoo, Finland is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our R&D instrument development team. The role focuses on embedded software in C/C++ on Linux (Yocto) with Qt, plus automation and UI prototyping using Figma.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electronics or Computer Science.
• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of software development experience.
• Experience with Qt or C/C++ is desired.
• Familiarity with Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Automation experience (Robot Framework or similar) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Figma for wireframes and prototypes.
• Fluent English communication, written and spoken.

To strengthen our customer’s dynamic Instrument development team, we are looking for a permanent Junior Software Engineerto our R&D organization.

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer with a strong foundation in C, C++ programming and a keen interest in embedded systems. Experience or familiarity with tools like Jenkins, scripting, and QT framework is a plus. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced engineers, gaining hands‑on experience in areas such as hardware-software integration, debugging, and automated build systems.

You will:

• Work actively with software development in embedded (C++ / Linux (yocto) / Qt) environment.

• Take ownership of automation scripts and workflows developed using the Robot Framework.

• Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma, rapidly transforming requirements and ideas into user-centric designs.

• Take responsibility for goals and timelines of your own projects and work packages.

• Work according to Aidian’s operation system (IVDR directive, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA QSR).

• Plan and execute Verification and Validation actions according to Aidian’s quality systems.

• Create and maintain documentation for code, system architecture and debugging processes.

Key success requirements in this role are:

• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electronics or Computer Science.

• Experience: Recent graduate (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) or up to 2 years of experience in software development.

• Previous work experience with Qt or C / C++ programming.

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Automation expertise is an advantage (Robot Framework or similar).

• Experience with Figma and the ability to rapidly create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes.

• Fluent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Self-driven, problem-solving mindset with a focus on high-quality code.

• A positive, proactive, and curious mindset, with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with the team.

• Additionally, we value:
