IT Service Desk Support Specialist

We are now looking for a full-time IT Service Desk Support Specialist to work at our Kuopio office.

Your job is built on a variety of tasks related to technical customer support and server management. The work includes, for example, setting up and maintaining customer data, invoicing, order processing, customer support and solving technical issues by phone, email and chat. You will also work with Linux, Plesk and WordPress interfaces.

You work as part of a team in our office in Kuopio, mainly during office hours, but you may also join various on-call tasks outside office hours, as agreed separately. In the work environment we use new iMac 5k and Macbook devices and our servers are completely in the cloud.

Your job may later shift to developing PHP/MySQL applications, designing and maintaining WordPress sites, producing content for social media, manage SEO and marketing or taking on more responsibility in team-leading tasks — all depending on your skills, motivation and willingness to develop in your profession.

What do we expect from you?

• At minimum you have a basic understanding of Linux servers and maintaining them, and you are familiar with the Internet network infrastructure. You also want constantly learn new things and are able to absorb information quickly.
• You speak and write excellent Finnish plus at least good English. You are precise and an optimistic, customer oriented, service-minded, persistent, issue-solving, agile and not afraid of work that sometimes turns into hectic. You are motivated to learn, want to constantly develop yourself and you get along well with different people.
• You enjoy working in office and appreciate regular office hours, a good peaceful working environment, locally agreed flexible work scheduling and a regular monthly salary. After a probationary period you may want to commit to permanent work in Kuopio. You also need to have a high tolerance for weird humour.

What would make you extra special for us? (Even one of these points is a big plus, but not a necessity)

• Experience in customer service: You have previously worked in customer service or Help Desk work and are used to solving customer problems in a solution-oriented and patient manner. You are comfortable on the phone and writing detailed emails. Your verbal output is a strength.
• Linux expertise: You are a true server expert with skills in Linux server maintenance, package management, migration and troubleshooting. An analytic problem-solving mindset is a plus.

WordPress knowledge: You have experience in WordPress and know how to install, update, maintain and migrate WordPress websites.

• PHP/MySQL knowledge: You have experience with PHP and MySQL/MariaDB databases.

AI expertise: You have experience in utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance your working methods and see AI as a natural tool in your work.

• Other special skills: You have other industry-specific expertise (e.g., marketing content production, social media marketing, search engine optimization, documentation, internationalization) or are especially motivated to learn any of the listed skills in your work or on your own.
