Job summary

Normet Group in Finland is seeking a Maintenance Design Engineer, Mechanics to keep underground mining and tunnelling equipment at peak performance. You will modify and design parts in 3D, generate structural drawings, and ensure quality through documentation and ongoing improvements.

You will work with Production, Quality, Documentation, and multiple engineering teams, reporting to the Team Lead, Item Data Management & Engineering Process Development. Hybrid work is possible in Iisalmi.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in the engineering field, preferably 3D design of mechanical structures
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers
• Fluent Finnish and good English skills
• Experience with 3D design tools and PLM/ERP systems is a plus

Responsibilities

• Modify and design parts and sub-assemblies in 3D (Autodesk Inventor)
• Produce and update drawings, work instructions, and parts lists
• Perform strength calculations and create exploded views for documentation
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Documentation, and other engineers to improve Normet equipment
• Design equipment installations in Platform team projects
