Job summary

Glent Group, a leading civil, structural and architectural contractor, is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our Helsinki team and promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across Finland’s construction projects.

You will lead inspections, risk assessments, RAMS development, inductions and training while collaborating with clients, subcontractors and project teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in health, safety and environment across construction projects.
• Knowledge of Finnish health and safety legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage with clients, subcontractors and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive HSE culture across site and projects.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.

• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE records and statutory documentation.
• Produce monthly HSEQ reports and monitor KPIs.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and authorities on HSE matters.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our team in Helsinki, Finland.

The Role

As HSE Manager, you will play a key role in managing and promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture across our construction projects in Finland.

Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients, you will ensure our projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with Finnish legislation and Glent’s standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive health, safety and environmental culture across site
• Carry out and oversee site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Develop, review and implement HSE procedures and site-specific documentation
• Prepare and review RAMS for planned works
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training
• Lead incident investigations and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
• Maintain accurate HSE records and statutory documentation
• Produce monthly HSEQ reports and monitor key performance indicators
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and relevant authorities on HSE matters
• Provide HSE guidance and support to project management and site teams
• Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of health, safety and environmental performance

About You

We would like to hear from candidates who have:

• Strong construction HSE experience, ideally within data centres, industrial or other large-scale construction projects
• Previous experience in an HSE Manager, Senior HSE Advisor or similar senior-level position
• A recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH or an equivalent professional qualification
• Good knowledge of Finnish health and safety legislation and construction safety requirements
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• The confidence to engage with clients, subcontractors and senior project stakeholders
• A proactive and collaborative approach
• Fluency in English. Finnish language skills would be an advantage but are not essential
• An EU passport or an existing legal right to live and work in Finland

Experience in fast-track or mission-critical construction environments would be an advantage.
