Job summary

Metso is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support its Australian Pumps business. You will manage local and international purchasing of pump components and indirect materials, raise RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, and create purchase orders in SAP.

The role emphasizes strong stakeholder relationships and cross‑team collaboration to ensure timely supply. With 2+ years in purchasing or procurement, you will bring solid negotiation skills and experience with ERP systems, plus a practical

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role.
Experience working with suppliers and managing quotations, pricing and delivery timeframes.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Experience using SAP or another ERP/procurement system.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

Raise and manage RFQs through Jaggaer.
Follow up with suppliers on quotations, pricing and delivery timeframes.
Analyse supplier quotations to support purchasing decisions.
Create and manage purchase orders through SAP.
Negotiate pricing, quantities and delivery times with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support inventory purchasing for Pump Products across Distribution Centres and Service Centres.
Work with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely supply.
