Job summary

Metso Australia is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support the Australian Pumps business with local and international purchasing of pump components and indirect materials. You will raise RFQs, manage supplier quotations and create purchase orders in SAP, while negotiating timing and prices and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
• Experience with suppliers, quotations, pricing and delivery timeframes.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience using SAP or another ERP/procurement system.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to understand technical information and read basic technical drawings (desirable).
• Understanding of mechanical or industrial products and equipment (desirable).
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, industrial or engineering environments (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage RFQs through Jaggaer.
• Follow up with suppliers on quotations, pricing and delivery times.
• Analyse supplier quotations to support purchasing decisions.
• Create and manage purchase orders through SAP.
• Negotiate pricing, quantities and delivery times with suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support inventory purchasing for Pump Products across DCs and Service Centres.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiency.
