Metsä Group’s Wood Supply and Forest Services seeks a Forest Expert for the Vasa procurement district, based in Närpes. The role focuses on timber trade, sale of forest services, and delivering a high-quality customer experience to forest owners in Övermark.
You will work with about 25 professionals, reporting to the district manager, coordinating forest management and felling with biodiversity and safety in mind, and advising forest owners on care of their assets.
Metsä Group’s Wood Supply and Forest Services provides and develops services for the members of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative. The company procures all the wood used by Metsä Group’s production units. The cooperative consists of more than 90,000 forest owners, who own about half of Finland’s privately owned forests. We are committed to regenerative forestry that measurably strengthens the forest ecosystem.
We seek a FOREST EXPERT for the Vasa procurement district for a permanent position. As a forest expert, you are responsible for timber trade, sale of forest services and creating a good customer experience in your operating area Övermark. Your point of operation is the local office in Närpes. You will be an important part of the work collective in the Vasa procurement district, which consists of about 25 professional employees. In the role, you report to the district manager. As a forest expert, you maintain contact with forest owners and plan forest management measures and felling for them, taking into account biological diversity in the forest and work safety. You advise forest owners in all matters concerning the care of their forest assets.
We expect you to have a suitable education in the forestry industry, good cooperation and communication skills, interest in active contact with forest owners and the ability to work independently and result-oriented. In the work, you need to be able to make decisions. We value industry knowledge, and previous experience of similar tasks is a merit. For the position, good oral and written skills in Swedish and Finnish are required. A driver's license is a prerequisite for performing the tasks.
