Job summary

RELEX Solutions in Helsinki is seeking a Financial Controller to reinforce our Group Reporting & Controlling team. You will manage commission and bonus calculations, processing, and global controlling, reporting to the Head of Group Reporting & Controlling and collaborating with the Revenue Controlling team.

The role requires a Master’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 3 years in a similar finance function, payroll expertise, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of professional work experience in a comparable role (controller, bookkeeper, auditor).
• Payroll expertise and experience with commissions and bonuses.
• Fluent in English and able to guide stakeholders in payroll matters.
• Ability to work independently under deadlines with accuracy.
• Experience with accounting and reporting analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and administer payroll materials for commissions and bonuses.
• Serve as main contact for commissions, bonuses and option-related matters with stakeholders and payroll partners.
• Prepare monthly and yearly commissions/bonus calculations and validate results.
• Develop commission and bonus processes and systems.
• Coordinate monthly/yearly payroll system updates with the system operator.
• Support audits and prepare reporting for RELEX subsidiaries.

Job description

We are now looking for a Financial Controller to reinforce our Group Reporting & Controlling team based in Helsinki. We expect you to manage commission and bonus calculations, their processing and controlling globally. You’ll be reporting to the Head of Group Reporting & Controlling and working closely with the Revenue Controlling team. This is a full‑time position for a fixed term during a parental leave, starting 1st September 2026, until 31st August 2027.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Financial Controller your main responsibilities will include:

• Gathering and administering payroll related materials regarding commissions, bonuses, and other payroll related materials
• Acting as a partner and the main contact point for commissions, bonuses and option related matters for both internal and external stakeholders, like our people team, personnel in sales and customer operations, and external payroll partners
• Preparing monthly and yearly commissions and bonus calculations, validating and contents, controlling the results and managing the payroll items for approvals and payments. Developing commission and bonus processes and systems
• Managing the monthly and yearly system updates for payroll processing together with the system operator
• Supporting team and stakeholders as needed with payroll related analysis and reporting, investigating external and internal inquiries related to commissions and bonuses
• Assisting with other selected financial management and controlling related tasks, like controlling the monthly and yearly reporting for three RELEX subsidiaries and supporting the audits

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Relevant studies / Master’s degree e.g., accounting, finance
• At least 3 years of professional work experience in a comparable role, like controller, bookkeeper, auditor
• You have payroll expertise and experience and want to further develop as a compensation controller
• You enjoy independent work, you can be firm and work under set deadlines and pressure without compromising detail and accuracy
• You have a service- and solution-oriented attitude and drive to solve any challenges in great collaboration with the stakeholders
• You have a positive, proactive, enthusiastic, and inspiring attitude
• You are fluent in English and able to instruct and guide stakeholders in payroll related matters
• Experience and understanding of accounting, and capability to analyze reporting are major advantages
• Fluency with IT systems: ability to learn new tools and software quickly, experience with AI tools. Working knowledge of SalesForce Spiff and HRIS WorkDay is an advantage.
