Job summary

Matrix42 AG is seeking a Finance professional to join the Finance team, turning data into decisions through insightful analysis, planning and reporting. You will collaborate with business leaders to support strategy and operational excellence.

You will partner on budget planning, forecasting and ad-hoc modeling, while building budgets with the Controlling team and delivering regular management reports. Hybrid work and growth opportunities are part of the package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years combined relevant experience in controlling, FP&A, corporate finance, strategic planning, or management consulting.
• Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills with MS Excel/Google Sheets and MS PowerPoint/Slides.
• Ability to work under pressure, juggle priorities, and adapt to growth and change.
• High analytical skills, numerical proficiency, problem-solving, and collaboration in international teams.
• Curious, detail-oriented, proactive with a hands-on attitude.
• Proficiency in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate financial data analysis and variance analysis to measure performance.
• Partner with functions for budget planning, monthly analysis, forecasting, and headcount/cost management needs.
• Collaborate with Controlling to build budgets, track variances, and produce monthly/quarterly management reports and forecasts.
• Drive growth, transparency, and operational improvements through understanding operational drivers.
• Provide FP&A input to maximize data accuracy and flow.

Your mission

Join our Finance team and help turn data into decisions! You will play a key role in driving business performance through insightful financial analysis, planning and reporting. Working closely with business leaders and the wider finance team, you'll help transform financial data into actionable recommendations, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the company's continued growth and operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities would look like this:

• Provide accurate and decision-relevant financial data analysis and perform detailed variance analysis to measure performance and help achieve the company’s goals.
• Partner with business functions to assist with budget planning, monthly budget analysis, forecasting, ad-hoc modeling, and support their respective headcount and cost management needs.
• Collaborate closely with the entire Controlling team to build the company budget, understand budget variances, track key operational and financial metrics, and produce monthly and quarterly management reporting packages as well as regular forecast updates.
• Drive growth, transparency and operational improvements across the team and the company, based on a thorough understanding of the operational drivers of business functions.

Work closely with the larger finance function to provide Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) input and advice to maximize the accuracy and flow of data.

Your profile

• Must Have
  • 3+ years combined relevant experience in controlling, FP&A, corporate finance, strategic planning, or management consulting with a sound understanding of financial statements and the interdependencies between profit & loss statement, balance sheet, and cashflow.
  • Talent for financial modeling as well as data analysis and reporting, backed up by excellent knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets, MS PowerPoint/Slides skills, and AI competencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, juggle multiple priorities, and stay flexible through growth and change.
  • High analytical skills, strong numerical proficiency, good problem-solving skills, and strong collaboration skills in international cross-functional teams.
  • A curious approach, an eye for detail, strong initiative, and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
  • Proficiency in English and Finnish.
• Nice to Have
  • Strong passion for B2B SaaS.
  • Proven track record of driving growth and scaling a business, ideally in a Private Equity backed environment.
