Job summary

Merima is seeking a proactive and analytical Project Controller to join our Finance team in Turku. You will drive financial analysis, forecasting, and business support across the project lifecycle, collaborating with Project Managers and Business Unit Controllers to improve profitability.

You will own the Additional Orders process across the project portfolio, manage cost estimates and invoicing milestones, and ensure timely invoicing for services and spare parts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in project controlling and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project performance vs budgets and forecasts and identify profit improvement opportunities.
• Control project revenue, costs and profitability.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis of project performance.
• Manage project cash flow forecasting.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities with Project Managers and the BU Controller.
• Support project execution and financial performance with Refurbishment BU team.
• Monitor services and spare parts margins and invoicing.
• Manage end-to-end Additional Orders process across the project portfolio.
• Prepare and process invoicing for Additional Orders.

Shape the financial success of our projects

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Project Controller to join our Finance team in Turku.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the financial success of our projects by providing accurate financial analysis, forecasting, and business support throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Business Unit Controllers, and other stakeholders while also taking ownership of the Additional Orders process across our project portfolio.

Your key responsibilities

Project Controlling

• Monitor project performance and scope against budgets and forecasts and identify profit improvement opportunities.
• Control project revenue, costs and profitability.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis of project performance.
• Manage project cash flow forecasting.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities together with Project Managers and the Business Unit Controller.
• Work closely with the Refurbishment Business Unit project team to support project execution and financial performance.

Service & Spare Parts Controlling

• Monitor sales and gross margin performance for Services and Spare Parts.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of service-related activities.

Additional Orders Management

• Manage the end-to-end Additional Orders process across the Merima project portfolio.
• Ensure contract value changes, cost estimates, and invoicing milestones accurately reflect approved Additional Orders.
• Prepare and process invoicing for Additional Orders.

What we're looking for

You are a hands‑on finance professional with strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset. You enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders and are comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growing business.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in project controlling, financial controlling, or project-based financial management.
• Strong understanding of project accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and solid experience working with ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive, results‑oriented approach and willingness to take ownership.
• Working proficiency in both Finnish and English.
