Job summary

Iisalmen kaupunki seeks an economic development director to strengthen growth, competitiveness and attractiveness of Iisalmi and Ylä-Savo. You will lead vitality and employment services, participate in city strategy work and implement vitality policy objectives.

The role focuses on corporate cooperation, promotion of investments, and identifying new growth opportunities, with responsibility for leading vitality services including advisory, communications, tourism and events, as well as grants

Qualifications

Job description

We seek an economic development director to strengthen the growth, competitiveness and attractiveness of Iisalmi and the whole Ylä-Savo. You will have a visible impact on the city’s future.

As the economic development director you will lead the vitality and employment services area, participate in city strategy work and be responsible for implementing vitality policy objectives. The role focuses on corporate cooperation, promotion of investments and business conditions and identifying new growth opportunities. You will lead vitality services including business advisory, communications and marketing, tourism and events as well as grant and project services. You will work in active cooperation with companies, entrepreneurs, investors, educational institutions as well as regional and national actors.

The role also involves acting as the head official of the Ylä-Savo employment region and, as part of the duties, the CEO role of Iisalmen Teollisuuskylä Oy.

Eligibility requires at least a higher university degree or a higher university degree from a university of applied sciences and relevant experience. We expect diverse experience in developing vitality, business activity or economic policy with a track record of results. We value strategy work, strong business and commercial understanding, marketing know-how, experience in promoting investments and broad networks.

The director of economic development has a full-time position with a total salary of 7 202,75 EUR/month. After 6-12 months of service, a personal salary supplement of up to 10% of the total salary may be granted. The selected candidate must provide an acceptable medical certificate before appointment. The post includes a six-month probation period.
