Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a major long-term project in Finland on a freelance contract.

You will support engineering and construction activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, monitor progress, and ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence. The role emphasizes planning, reporting, change management, and stakeholder engagement with English fluency and EU right to work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer in construction or related projects.
• Strong ability to manage contractor interfaces and site operations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and controlling interfaces.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, reporting and risk management.
• Ability to review technical documentation and support engineering activities.

My client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major long-term project in Finland on a freelance contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale engineering and construction programme, supporting project delivery through coordination, planning, site activities, stakeholder management, and project controls.

The Role

• Support the successful delivery of engineering and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project stakeholders including contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Assist with project planning, reporting, documentation, and change management activities.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Monitor quality, HSE, and compliance requirements across project activities.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical and commercial support to the wider project team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer within construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, or engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery, contractor management, and site operations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project interfaces.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, reporting, and risk management.
• Ability to review technical documentation and support engineering and construction activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• MUST have EU passport/Right to work in Finland
• Fluent English is required; Finnish language skills would be advantageous.
