Job summary

I’m currently working with a growing technology company in Helsinki that is looking for an experienced CTO to take ownership of its technology direction and help shape the next stage of its growth.

This is a senior leadership position for someone who combines strong technical understanding with strategic thinking and wants to have a genuine influence on both technology and the wider business.

The role:

As CTO, you will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s technology strategy, while working closely with senior leadership, engineering teams and customers. The company has a strong Microsoft technology focus, with its technology landscape centred around .NET, Azure, cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.

You will be involved in:

• Defining and developing the overall technology strategy and roadmap
• Leading and developing engineering and technology teams
• Driving cloud adoption, modernisation and architectural improvements
• Overseeing .NET and Azure-based solutions and platforms
• Establishing strong DevOps, CI/CD and automation practices
• Ensuring scalability, security, reliability and maintainability across the technology landscape
• Making key architectural and technology decisions
• Supporting product and business strategy from a technology perspective
• Working closely with customers and stakeholders on technical direction
• Building a strong engineering culture focused on quality, innovation and continuous improvement
• Keeping the organisation ahead of developments across cloud, AI and emerging technologies

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who has progressed through a strong technical background and has experience taking ownership of technology at a senior leadership level.

Ideally, you will have:

• Strong experience within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Extensive experience with .NET / C# and Azure
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and modern software engineering
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, IaC and automation
• Experience leading and developing technical teams
• A strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices
• Experience with technology strategy, transformation and modernisation
• The ability to communicate effectively with both highly technical teams and business leadership
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how technology can support business growth
• A hands‑on mindset and the ability to get into the technical detail when required
• Fluent Finnish is a must

This is not a purely managerial CTO position. Technical credibility is important, and we’re looking for someone who can challenge ideas, understand complex engineering decisions and work closely with technical teams while also operating at board and executive level.
