Job description

About the role

We are looking for a Solution Engineer / System Developer for our client to work with product configuration solutions, CPQ-type systems and related integrations. Our client is an international technology company whose solutions play an important role in industrial technology and the development of more sustainable solutions.

In this role, you will develop and maintain both ready-made product configuration platforms, such as Tacton CPQ, and the clients own internal systems. This is not a pure coding role in a ready-made development team, but an independent and versatile position where you solve user needs, make changes directly to systems and turn development requests into practical solutions.

The preferred location is Vaasa, where a large share of the system users and business stakeholders are based. Helsinki and Turku are also possible locations, provided that you are able to travel to Vaasa occasionally and have experience in requirements gathering and collaboration in a remote or hybrid working environment.

We offer

In this position, you will get to develop business-critical product configuration solutions in an environment where user needs, technical development and system integrations meet. The role is especially suitable for someone who enjoys independent expert work and wants to have a concrete impact on how solutions are developed and taken forward.

We offer you:
– A salary range of approximately 3700–4700 €/month, depending on your skills and experience
– A versatile role combining product configuration, CPQ, system development and integrations
– Collaboration with users, architects, business stakeholders and technical experts
– A hybrid working model depending on the location and needs of the role

Work tasks

Your working days may include reviewing development requests from users, making system changes, investigating issues in the code, working with API interfaces and integrations, and planning technical solutions together with the Solution Architect and other stakeholders.

Approximately half of the role focuses on hands-on development. At the same time, you will work close to the users and gain an understanding of how product configuration solutions support broader business, engineering and design processes. To succeed in this role, you should be able to take ownership of unclear issues, investigate solutions independently and turn user needs into concrete improvements.

Your responsibilities include, for example:
– Developing and maintaining product configuration solutions and CPQ-type systems
– Making changes and fixes to systems based on user feedback and development needs
– Further developing the clients own configuration system and Tacton-type solutions
– Reading, modifying and writing production-level code
– Working with API interfaces and system integrations
– Supporting users and ensuring that the service functions reliably
– Gathering and refining requirements together with business and technical stakeholders
– Supporting documentation, testing and change management
– Collaborating with the Solution Architect, business users and other experts
– Supporting future technical solutions and platform choices as part of the broader roadmap

The person we are looking for

The person we are looking for has a strong interest in system development, product configuration solutions and integrations. You do not need to be a ready-made architect or CPQ specialist, but you should be able to work independently with technical solutions and understand how systems communicate with each other.

You are a suitable candidate if you have:
– A relevant Masters degree, for example in information technology, software development, industrial engineering and management, or another relevant field
– Practical software development experience and the ability to read existing code, make changes to it and write production-level code
– Experience or good understanding of API interfaces and system integrations
– Skills in technologies such as .NET, C#, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python and relational databases
– Good communication and collaboration skills in an international environment
– The ability to work independently, investigate issues proactively and drive tasks to completion
– Fluent written and spoken English

We consider it an advantage if you have:
– Experience with product configuration solutions, CPQ systems or rule-based configurators
– Experience with Tacton CPQ or similar platforms
– Experience with systems used in industrial, engineering, PLM, ERP or product development environments
– Experience with agile methods, Scrum, DevOps practices or ITSM processes
– Fluent Finnish or Swedish language skills

Practical information
– Location: Primarily Vaasa, but Helsinki and Turku are also possible
– Working model: Hybrid model with most working days spent at the office
– Travel: If based in Helsinki or Turku, occasional travel to Vaasa is expected
– Working hours: Full-time, permanent
– Start: Beginning of August 2026
– Salary: Approximately 3700–4700 €/month, depending on skills and experience
– Language: English is required; Finnish and Swedish are considered an advantage
