Job summary

VTT, a premier Finnish research, development and innovation organization in Espoo, seeks a Head of Business Operations for the Digital Systems area. You will report to the EVP and lead a team of Business Operations Managers, ensuring governance, strategy execution and efficient internal processes across a ~750-person division.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of leadership experience with operations focus.
• Experience leading in an R&D, research or product development setting.
• Experience owning 360-degree oversight of organization, operating models, finances and contracts.
• Proven line-management experience with direct reports.
• Proven ability to drive transformation and harmonize processes across the organization.
• Excellent coordination, follow-up and risk management capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration across organizational levels.
• Experience enabling executive decision-making in teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct manager to a team of Business Operations Managers and lead operations governance.
• Support EVP with decision prep, action follow-up and risk management.
• Collaborate with support functions and the Materials & Energy area to harmonize processes.
• Oversee internal processes including QEHS, resourcing and financial planning with business controllers.
• Drive continuous improvement and harmonization of operations across the organization.
• Ensure strategy execution follow-up and implementation of Technology Portfolios.
• Coordinate financial follow-up and government grant allocations.
• Participate in internal steering groups and manage project risks.
• Document actions and track decisions in leadership meetings.
