Job summary

VTT is seeking a Head of Business Operations in its Digital Systems area to act as the right hand to the Executive Vice President. The role focuses on operational excellence, strategy execution, and smooth internal processes across a ~750-person unit.

You will lead a team of Business Operations Managers and drive continuous improvement across the organization. The position emphasizes resource management, QEHS, government grant tracking, and finance planning, with a focus on harmonized processes

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role with operations management focus.
• Experience in an operative leadership role in R&D, research or product development.
• Experience overseeing 360 view of the organization including operating models, finances and legal agreements.
• Some years of line management experience with direct reports.
• Proven ability to lead transformation and harmonize processes across the wider organization and VTT as a whole.
• Excellent coordination, follow-up and risk management capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration across organizational levels.
• Experience in leading teams and supporting executive-level decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Direct Manager to a team of Business Operations Managers and lead operational governance.
• Support the EVP in decision preparation, action follow-up, and risk management.
• Collaborate with support functions and colleagues to implement common processes across the organization.
• Oversee internal processes including QEHS, government grant allocations, and financial planning with business controllers.
• Drive continuous improvement and harmonization of operations across the business area.
• Ensure strategy execution follow-up and contribute to Portfolio implementations.
• Coordinate corrective actions in projects with deviations or difficulties.
• Maintain documentation and action tracking in leadership meetings.
