Job summary

Eficode Group in Finland is seeking a hands-on Chief Accountant to lead full‑cycle accounting for Eficode Finland Oy during an 18‑month parental leave cover. You will lead general ledger, month‑end closes, tax filings, and financial statements under Finnish Accounting Standards.

Collaborating with international finance colleagues, you will support transfer pricing and drive process improvements in a fast‑paced scale‑up.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closes, financial statements, and tax filings for Finnish entities.
• Experience in a group or multinational setting is beneficial.
• Fluency in Finnish and English (written and spoken) is required.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
• Strong agility and change management in a scale-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and daily accounting for Finnish entity.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes under Finnish standards.
• Prepare corporate tax returns, VAT reporting, and statutory filings.
• Coordinate with group finance on intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
• Identify efficiency opportunities and streamline accounting workflows.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on, proactive Chief Accountant to take ownership of full‑cycle operational accounting for Eficode Finland Oy during an 18-month parental leave cover. In this role, you will lead general ledger accounting, month‑end closures, tax filings, and financial statements under Finnish Accounting Standards (FAS). While focusing primarily on Finnish entity’s day‑to‑day operations, you will also collaborate with international finance colleagues and support group‑level initiatives, such as operational transfer pricing. You will be part of the local finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance, Finland.

• Full‑Cycle Accounting: Manage general ledger operations, journal entries, account reconciliations, and daily operational accounting for Eficode Oy.
• Month‑End Close & Reporting: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes under FAS. Maintain clean, timely bank‑to‑GL and GL‑to‑subledger reconciliations, reassure proper periodization of revenues and expenses, and reconcile payroll accounting.
• Tax & Statutory Compliance: Prepare and submit corporate tax returns, VAT reporting, and statutory filings. Assist with audit requests and maintain documentation.
• Group & Cross‑Border Collaboration: Partner with the broader finance team on group operational accounting tasks, intercompany transactions, and operational transfer pricing matters.
• Process improvement & Change Management: Identify efficiency opportunities and help refine accounting workflows within a dynamic scale‑up environment.

Role Requirements and Desired Skills

• Accounting Expertise: Solid hands‑on experience managing full‑cycle accounting, month‑end closes, financial statements, and tax filings for Finnish legal entities. Deep knowledge of the Finnish GAAP and the accounting act. Experience from working in a Group setting is beneficial.
• Agility & Fast‑Paced Experience: Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, strong change management skills and experience adapting processes to scale are essential.
• Systems & Tools: Proficient in NetSuite and the Google Workspace ecosystem. Advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both Finnish and English (written and spoken)
• Education: Suitable degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
