Job summary

Scandinavian Trust AB in Helsinki seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to join our hands-on team managing a diverse portfolio of international clients across the Nordics. You will handle accounting, VAT, and payroll tasks for Finland-based assignments with autonomy and collaboration.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of Finnish accounting experience, real estate accounting exposure, and fluency in English and Finnish.

Scandinavian Trust is looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Accountant to join our team in Helsinki.

We work with a diverse portfolio of international companies operating and investing in Finland and across the Nordics. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking responsibility for clients across different industries and types of assignments.

This is a broad role. We are particularly interested in someone who combines strong accounting skills with experience in real estate accounting and is also comfortable handling straightforward payroll assignments.

What you'll be doing

You will have responsibility for your own client portfolio and work independently with clients, auditors, and authorities throughout the accounting cycle. Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

• Day‑to‑day accounting and monthly closings
• VAT reporting and other statutory reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and depreciation
• Financial statements and corporate income tax returns
• Straightforward payroll assignments for selected clients, including payroll calculations and reporting to the Incomes Register, as well as supporting foreign companies with employees posted to Finland
• Ensuring compliance with deadlines and Finnish regulatory requirements.
• Contributing to the development and streamlining of internal processes.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is curious, practical and comfortable taking ownership. You don't need to be a specialist in everything, but you should have a solid understanding of Finnish accounting. IFRS experience is an extra plus.

We value someone who looks beyond the numbers, takes the time to understand each client's business and can proactively identify issues and help clients meet their Finnish accounting, tax and reporting obligations.

We hope you have:

• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience in Finland
• The ability to independently handle accounting through to financial statements
• Experience with real estate accounting
• Some hands‑on experience with Finnish payroll and an interest in continuing to work with it
• A good understanding of Finnish VAT and corporate taxation
• Confidence working directly with clients
• Good English and Finnish skills
• A practical and solution‑oriented way of working, with a “can‑do or will‑learn” attitude

Experience with Netvisor is an advantage, but not a requirement. Experience in an accounting firm or working with international clients would also be highly valued.

We are not necessarily looking for a payroll specialist. For more complex payroll, employment law or international matters, you will have specialists to turn to.
