Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics.
• Solid experience in business controlling, financial planning and analysis, reporting or a comparable senior finance role.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and profitability drivers.
• Proven ability to act as a business partner to senior stakeholders and translate analysis into actions.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• High integrity, ownership and ability to drive improvements.
• Fluent Finnish and English; additional languages a plus.

We are looking for a Business Controller, Vianor

The Business Controller, Vianor acts as a senior finance business partner to the Vianor business leadership, providing financial insight, analysis and challenge to support performance management, profitability improvement and strategic decision-making. The role combines strong business understanding, disciplined financial planning and reporting, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business actions.

Key responsibilities:

• Financial leadership and business partnering: Provide proactive financial support, challenge and insights to Vianor business leadership and country organizations. Act as a trusted sparring partner in identifying performance drivers, risks, opportunities and concrete improvement actions.
• Performance management and profitability analysis: Lead analysis of business performance across sales, margin, cost, operating profit, working capital and cash flow. Support the business in understanding key profitability drivers, including customer, product, country and price-volume-mix dynamics.
• Planning, forecasting and budgeting: Own and coordinate key financial planning processes for Vianor, including monthly estimates, annual budgeting and long-range planning, in close cooperation with business leadership and country finance teams.
• Reporting and financial transparency: Ensure timely, accurate and meaningful financial reporting for Vianor and support country companies in monthly reporting. Continuously improve reporting quality, management insight and visualization of key financial information.
• Investment, business case and strategic support: Support business development, investment decisions, expansion initiatives and M&A-related activities by providing robust financial analysis, business case modelling and standardized evaluation methods.
• Process, tools and ways-of-working development: Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, planning practices, reporting tools and analytical methods. Promote efficient use of systems, data and digital tools, including business intelligence and AI-supported analysis.
• Governance, controls and audit support: Support sound financial governance, internal cost allocation, inventory-related follow-up and audit processes for Vianor and relevant country companies.

What we expect from you:

• A master’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting or economics.
• Solid experience in business controlling, financial planning and analysis, reporting or a comparable senior finance role, preferably in an international, multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, profitability drivers and financial performance management.
• Proven ability to act as a business partner to senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and convert financial analysis into practical business recommendations.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, investment analysis and business case modelling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial topics for business audiences.
• High level of integrity, ownership and attention to detail, combined with the ability to operate independently and drive improvement across processes, tools and ways of working.
• Good command of modern finance systems, reporting tools and data analytics solutions; experience with business intelligence tools is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English. Other relevant languages are considered an advantage.
