Job summary

Kesko is seeking an experienced Business Controller to join K-IT and shape IT financial steering, cost transparency and decision support. You will partner with IT management, lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and drive TBM-based cost management across the function.

The role is based at Kesko's Helsinki headquarters in a hybrid work setup, with extensive benefits and opportunities to influence IT investments and operating models within one of Finland's largest retail groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum several years as Controller/Business Controller in IT/finance.
• Experience with IT cost management and TBM-type models is preferred.
• Ability to combine data, business understanding and clear communication.
• Experience using GenAI to improve finance processes is a plus.

Job description

Would you like to help build the IT steering of the future together with Finland's leading trade sector operator? We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join K-IT to build the future of IT financial steering, cost transparency and support for management decision-making.

Your role

As a Business Controller, you will act as K-IT's finance partner and help ensure that decision-making is based on high-quality data and a solid business understanding. You will take an active part in budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and support IT management's decision-making as a member of the K-IT management team. You will work with a broad network of stakeholders across K-IT and the business divisions, fostering a shared understanding of IT service costs, cost allocations, and the business value generated through technology investments

Your key responsibilities include:

• Analysing and reporting on Kesko Group IT costs
• Coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes
• Acting as a sparring partner for business and IT management on financial matters
• Developing reporting, forecasting and analytics processes and tools
• Driving the development of IT cost transparency through a TBM-based cost management model

To succeed in this role, we believe that you…

Are an experienced Business Controller with the ability to grasp both the details and the bigger picture. You can challenge constructively and bring insights to support decision-making, but you also have the patience and accuracy to handle the necessary routines to a high standard.

We are looking for:

• several years of experience in Controller/Business Controller roles
• experience in IT controlling or in monitoring IT costs
• an understanding of cost allocations, service pricing or IT cost transparency solutions (experience of TBM-type models is considered an advantage)
• the ability to combine data, business understanding and impactful communication
• excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• a development-oriented and proactive approach to work

In addition, we value:

• knowledge of ServiceNow and related tools will be an advantage
• fluency in Finnish and English
• experience of financial steering in large organizations
• a track record of using GenAI to develop both individual ways of working and/or finance processes
