Job summary

Beneq in Espoo, Finland, is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop and maintain automation software for its Spatial ALD equipment. You will be part of the Spatial ALD Product Team, delivering robust automation solutions for high-performance systems.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process and product engineers, participate in testing, commissioning and continuous product development, and contribute to the automation architecture and tools.

Qualifications

Strong Engineering background with 2+ years of experience in automation engineering.
Knowledge of PLC software development, especially Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 or Codesys environments, using IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.
Experience with automation instrumentation and electrical drawings.
Experience with servo drives and motors.
HTML5/JS-based HMI design tools is an advantage.
Familiar with DevOps practices.
Familiar with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Customer-oriented, able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel globally is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain automation software for Beneq's Spatial ALD equipment.
Deliver automation solutions for advanced ALD platforms within the Spatial ALD Product Team.
Support software testing, laboratory simulations, equipment validation and troubleshooting.
Participate in customer commissioning, installation and software upgrades worldwide.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
Produce and maintain software documentation.
Contribute to continuous development of Beneq's automation architecture, tools and practices.
