Job summary

Beneq, based in Espoo, Finland, seeks a Process Development Engineer to join our dynamic TFS-series team. You will design and optimize ALD processes, work hands-on in a clean room, and partner with advanced research customers to advance thin-film technologies.

The role requires an MSc or PhD in a related field, strong ALD knowledge, and excellent communication skills. You will document parameters and act as a technical contact while collaborating with product teams to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong ALD and thin film deposition knowledge.
• Hands-on process development and DOE/statistical analysis experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and understand process equipment.
• Experience with thin film characterization and measurement techniques.
• Excellent written and spoken English in technical contexts.
• Analytical, structured, proactive and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute ALD process development to meet customer requirements.
• Developing and optimizing ALD processes in a clean room environment.
• Conduct process development and optimization to demonstrate the value of ALD tools and services.
• Scheduling and managing process development projects in line with customer timelines.
• Maintaining thorough documentation of process parameters, measurements and conclusions.
• Acting as the primary technical contact for customers and building trust-based relationships.
• Collaborating with the product team to improve ALD process related services.
• Continuously improving development methodologies and internal practices.
