Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an AI Data Analyst to turn WGLS data into advanced analyses and AI-powered tools. You will cover the full data lifecycle—from understanding business needs, preparing and modeling data to delivering analyses, reports or conversational agents.

The ideal candidate brings strong SQL and Python, practical AI/LLM experience, and hands-on BI skills (Power BI). Knowledge of Databricks or similar platforms and logistics domain understanding will help drive value across Wärtsilä

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant field (technical, computer science, data/AI, statistics, commercial etc.) or similar practical experience.
• Strong command of SQL and experience working with data from different source systems.
• Programming experience in Python for data work.
• Practical experience applying AI / Large Language Models to data-related use cases (e.g. natural-language querying, retrieval-augmented generation, automated analysis).
• Hands-on experience creating reports and visualizations, mainly with Microsoft Power BI.
• Knowledge of Databricks or other data platforms.
• Understanding of supply chain or logistics processes, with a genuine interest in improving them and creating value for the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced analyses on WGLS data.
• Build conversational agents on top of our data for natural language queries.
• Create solutions to query structured data and logistics documents via natural language.
• Collect requirements from stakeholders and deliver analyses, reports, dashboards or tools.
• Extract, transform and prepare data from multiple source systems as needed.
• Develop and maintain reports and visualizations for appropriate use cases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of our reporting and data practices; support AI-ready data foundations.
• Support WGLS users in adopting AI-based analytics tools safely and effectively.
