DESCRIPTION

At Amazon, we need talented and experienced individuals to help us operate safely and efficiently. As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager within the Amazon Fulfilment Centre (FC), your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You will help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site.

The successful candidate will identify, coordinate and drive improvements in inbound safety, quality and productivity, working with the Operations Management teams to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that the Fulfilment Centre provides to our customers.

Key job responsibilities:

1. Managing the health and safety function at the FC, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
2. Proactively engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites.
3. Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
4. Reviewing and auditing arrangements for health & safety management and continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
5. Providing strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health & safety risks and recommending suitable adaptations to plant, machinery and processes.
6. Ensuring robust reporting regimes are in place for H&S statistics.
7. Providing management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
8. Supporting business change through effective change management processes within the fast paced FC environment.
9. Driving behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi shift operation.
10. Implementation and review of company global safety policies ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met.

1. A Bachelor degree or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
2. Education to a degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specialisations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
3. Relevant experience managing a team.
4. Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
5. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language.

1. Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
2. Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability.
3. Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership.
4. Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management.
