Description:

You will be part of the newly formed Data Science and Analytics team at Avantio. Our mission is to drive growth for our clients by innovating and optimizing technology through machine learning and AI.

You will play a key role in developing our Dynamic Pricing model and Advanced Analytics features, laying the foundation for further innovation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building solutions from scratch and wants to make a significant impact.

The Data Scientist is responsible for developing and implementing advanced machine learning models, including dynamic pricing algorithms and revenue management tools. This role also supports analytics features within our Property Management System (PMS), providing actionable insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for dynamic pricing of vacation rental properties.
• Perform feature engineering, model training, and evaluation to ensure high accuracy and performance.
• Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights, identify trends and patterns, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.

• Collaboration and Support: Work with Data Engineers to ensure data availability and quality; support integration of models into PMS and other applications.

• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate model performance, making adjustments as needed; develop dashboards and reports to demonstrate impact.

• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on latest developments in machine learning and AI; experiment with new algorithms and techniques to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or relevant qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 3-5 years of experience in developing or implementing machine learning models.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks.
• Strong understanding of modeling techniques and statistical analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience managing large datasets.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the vacation rental, hotel, or property management industry.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS.
• Experience in modeling demand and pricing strategies.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
