NTT DATA Barcelona is seeking a seasoned Z/OS Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise storage across disk, tape, backup, and DR, collaborating with infrastructure, operations, and application teams in a regulated environment.

You will drive capacity planning, automation, and modernization initiatives, configure storage for databases and VSAM, and ensure high availability, security, and governance across complex mainframe environments.

Formación

• 8 to 15+ years of experience in Mainframe Infrastructure and z/OS Storage Administration.
• Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS storage in large-scale enterprises.
• Experience with IBM DS8000 (DS8870, DS8K family), DSCLI, GDPS, PPRC Metro Mirror, DFHSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, SMS, RMM Customization, z/OS IODF Administration.
• Experience installing/upgrading storage hardware and software.
• Knowledge of Mainframe Disk Storage Management, Provisioning, Capacity Planning, Backup/Recovery, DR.
• Experience with TS7720 Virtual Tape Systems, Storage Grid Architectures, PPRC Replication.
• Experience with EMC DLm Virtual Tape systems (installation, upgrade, config).
• Experience with Broadcom/Brocade storage networking and FICON.
• Knowledge of z/OS, JCL, Job Scheduling, Mainframe Storage Infrastructure
• Familiarity with CA-1/CA Vantage/CA Disk/TDMF/TDMFS/NetView/System Automation/CA OPS (desirable).
• Storage performance tools, migration projects, modernization initiatives.
• Understanding of IBM Parallel Sysplex and GDPS HA architectures.
• Experience supporting global data centers and regulatory audits.
• IBM Storage or IBM Z certifications preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage mainframe disk and storage administration including provisioning, upgrades, and ongoing support
• Conduct daily operations: health checks, incident management, monitoring, issue resolution
• Plan and execute storage capacity expansions and infrastructure changes
• Configure and maintain storage resources for databases, VSAM files, work datasets, and sort spaces
• Administer storage management products (e.g., CA Disk)
• Install, test, and maintain storage hardware and software
• Perform z/OS hardware planning (IODF, LPAR, HMC) and system changes
• Administer backup, recovery, archival, and disaster recovery solutions
• Use SMP/E and z/OSMF for software maintenance and deployment
• Manage storage volume allocation and utilization reporting
• Support disaster recovery testing and exercises
• Root cause analysis for storage incidents and preventive actions
• Collaborate with systems programming, network, database, and application teams
• Design and support IBM zSeries storage architectures and solutions
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and standards
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Demonstrate ownership and technical leadership over storage services

In this role, you will manage and optimize enterprise mainframe storage for IBM z/OS environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
