Job summary

GE Vernova’s ROC Technical Lead role in Barcelona oversees offshore wind asset operations from a Remote Operations Center. You will monitor performance, diagnose issues, support commissioning and service activities, and drive improvements with field teams and engineering specialists.

The position requires hands-on wind energy experience, ability to read electrical schematics, fluency in English, and willingness to travel up to 20% within the EU, including relocation to Barcelona if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or equivalent wind energy experience.
• Hands-on experience with wind turbines in operational environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support situations.
• Experience with SCADA systems and other digital monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and relocate to Barcelona; EU work eligibility; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance.
• Escalate complex issues with clear and structured technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems.
• Analyse operational data to identify faults, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational optimisation.
• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance.
• Work on a rotating weekday shift schedule with occasional on-call support during weekends and public holidays.
