Hitachi Energy seeks a Technical Application Engineer for the EMEA region to support Battery Energy Storage Systems, renewables, and grid-scale power conversion solutions. You will collaborate with customers, partners, sales, tendering, PM, and BD teams to deliver best-in-class technical support and promote PCS offerings.

The role requires excellent communication, leadership, and the ability to travel across the EMEA region.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in application engineering or technical sales support.
• Fluent in English; willingness to travel across the EMEA.

Responsabilidades

The opportunity

Join our global Technical Sales Support team at Hitachi Energy's Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) business as a Technical Application Engineer for the EMEA region. In this customer-facing role, you will collaborate closely with customers, channel partners, sales, tendering, product management, and business development teams to provide best-in-class technical support and promote our utility-scale power conversion solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in business growth by supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy projects, and grid-scale power conversion applications across the EMEA market, while acting as a technical ambassador for Hitachi Energy's innovative technologies.

How you'll make an impact

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and channel partners, including system integrators, developers, IPPs, EPCs, and Battery OEMs.
• Lead technical presentations and customer discussions during the sales cycle, promoting the value of PCS converters, MV stations, and automation and digital solutions.
• Support sales and tendering teams by defining, sizing, and validating technical solutions that meet customer and project requirements.
• Contribute to the growth of the PCS Partner Program through partner qualification, onboarding, training, and technical enablement.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, Product Management, and Business Development teams to ensure PCS technology is specified in Approved Vendor Lists (AVL) and to capture future market requirements.
• Support winning bids by influencing customers on key technical differentiators and developing compelling value propositions.
• Act as a technical ambassador for Hitachi Energy by representing the company at industry conferences, trade fairs, and customer events across the EMEA region.
• Drive the deployment of technical tools, documentation, and training programs that strengthen customer trust and partner collaboration.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Specialization in Power Systems or Energy Systems is preferred.
• Proven experience in application engineering, technical sales support, power electronics, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy solutions, or related technologies.
• Strong understanding of power system principles and electrical networks at utility and industrial levels.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions and effectively support commercial discussions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to work across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with EPCs, developers, utilities, system integrators, or Battery OEMs is considered an advantage.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel across the EMEA region as required.
