Hitachi Energy in Madrid seeks a Project Technical Engineering Senior Professional to lead HVDC system performance studies worldwide. You will guide engineering decisions, mentor junior engineers and support tender evaluations through system tests and commissioning.

You will work with international teams, shape technical approaches, and help build a new Spanish engineering capability, accelerating the energy transition.

Formación

• Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Engineering Physics or related.
• Experience in power system studies, HVDC, FACTS, grid integration or similar complex electrical engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of simulation tools such as PSCAD, PSSE, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, ETAP or equivalent.
• Proven ability to work independently, lead technical activities and manage complex engineering challenges.
• Fluent English is required; Spanish is highly valued and Swedish would be an advantage.
• Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to influence technical decisions within international project teams.

• Contribute to the continuous development of engineering practices while helping build and grow the new Spanish engineering team.

We are looking for a Project Technical Engineering Senior Professional to join our HVDC System Performance team and play a key technical role in the delivery of complex HVDC projects worldwide. As a senior engineer, you will lead technical studies, guide engineering decisions, and support multidisciplinary teams throughout the complete project lifecycle. From tender evaluations and system studies to control design, testing, and commissioning, you will provide technical expertise that ensures reliable and high-performing HVDC solutions for our customers.
