At Hitachi Energy, we are establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). We are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity.

As part of our engineering team, you’ll lead simulation studies, translate insights into customer‑ready reports, and engage directly with clients to understand and shape their needs. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, contribute to cutting‑edge R&D, and continuously expand your knowledge in today’s evolving energy landscape.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Undertaking various simulation studies individually or as part of a team daily.
• Making reports out of studies and presenting to customers.
• Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings.
• Coordination and communication with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries, and in close connection to research and development activities.
• Having ambition in learning and sharing critical knowledge in today’s power system.
• You will be in frequent contact with the other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers and other Hitachi Energy units in an international environment.
• You will work independently as well as in a team and assume responsibility for given tasks is a key to success.

Your Background

• You hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• You are experienced in power systems analysis.
• It is preferred that you know about these programs and tools: RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP‑RV, etc.
• It is considered a merit if you have previous experience working on tenders and are familiar with activities such as cost estimation, coordination with sales, and understanding customer specifications.
• Since you will be working in an international environment, it is essential that you communicate fluently in English.

Willingness to travel: Required up to 10%.
