Job summary

UST is seeking a Java Technical Lead to drive delivery for a global banking and financial tech client. The role is 100% remote for candidates based in Spain, with opportunities to shape architecture, coding standards, and DevOps practices across the team.

You will mentor developers, set best practices, and ensure scalable, high-performance software while aligning with Product Management goals and SDLC processes.

Qualifications

Very strong Java programming skills and knowledge of API development.
Deep understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle.
Deep understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles.
Experience with Unit Testing, API Testing, Acceptance Testing, Load Testing.
Experience with distributed architectures like SOA or MSA.
Experience with event-driven architectures.
Experience with REST APIs.
Experience with AWS services.
Experience with Gradle or Maven.
Experience with Enterprise Jenkins.
Experience working in an Agile fashion (Scrum, SAFe).

Responsibilities

Lead the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
Set coding standards, best practices, and ensure adherence to them
Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance their skills and performance
Provide technical guidance and support to the team
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software
As part of the DevOps model you build it, you own it and you run it , ensure stable and smooth maintenance of delivered software
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Participate in complete Software Development Life Cycle, including occasional QA and peer review
Work to achieve the goals and vision articulated by Product Management
Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain.
