Lloyd's Register in Med Spain is seeking a Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to cover Existing vessels, Materials and components, with occasional travel. The role will be filled at Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level based on experience and expertise.

The position offers a permanent role with opportunities to deliver knowledge-based services across areas of engineering and compliance, under budget and quality constraints.

Formación

• Degree in engineering or physical sciences or marine qualifications with sea-going experience.
• Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
• Working towards or attaining Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
• Adherence to professional codes of conduct and LR Ethics.
• Experience with verification processes, product and rule development and project management.
• Ability to apply general and specialised engineering knowledge to existing and emerging technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct activities and provide knowledgeable advice for service delivery within area of experience.
• Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, formats, deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
• Discuss and present deliverables with internal and external clients and offer solutions when needed.
• Perform activities following internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue CPD to maintain high discipline, knowledge and awareness.
• Assess and recommend time and value for external work, aiding fee and cost structure.
• Provide guidance to other employees and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Mentor / coach other employees to support knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to service delivery improvement by communicating client feedback.
• Undertake routine administration tasks following current processes.

What we are looking for

This position is based in Med Spain, and covers the relevant activities in that area for Existing vessels, New Construction, Materials and components. Occasional work outside of this area is also expected to cover business needs. The role is primarily dealing with the survey of Existing vessels and Materials and components activities and will be appointed at Surveyor or Senior Surveyor grade depending on experience and skills.

The Role

• Conduct relevant activities and provide knowledgeable advice for service delivery within one's own area of experience, ensuring compliance with budget constraints and contractual requirements.

What you bring

• A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two-year programme), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ships officer.
• Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
• Working towards or attaining Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
• Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics .
• Previous experience of verification processes, product and rule development and project management with experience of delivering technical services and products within defined budgets and timescales.
• The ability to utilize a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding existing and emerging technology.
• Capability suitable theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.
• Proficiency in technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management.
• Proficiency in the English language that is suitable for the nature of the work.
