Lloyd’s Register in Palma, Spain, seeks a Surveyor/Senior Surveyor to cover Existing vessels, New Construction, and Materials & components. The role focuses on survey work in Med Spain and may extend beyond for business needs, with rank set by experience.

The position demands strong technical and project-management skills, familiarity with LR procedures, and the ability to work with clients to deliver compliant, value-driven outcomes. Hybrid working arrangements may apply.

Formación

• A degree or equivalent in engineering or physical science, or marine education with sea-going experience.
• Membership in a professional institution.
• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
• Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics.
• Experience with verification processes, product and rule development and project management.
• Ability to apply general and specialist engineering knowledge to develop and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services.
• Proficiency in English suitable for the work.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct activities and provide knowledgeable advice for service delivery within own area of experience, ensuring budgets and contractual requirements are met.
• Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, meeting deadlines, budget and quality standards.
• Discuss and present deliverables with clients, offering suitable solutions.
• Perform activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and standards.
• Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain high level of knowledge.
• Assess time and value for external work, assisting in determining fee and cost structures.
• Provide guidance to colleagues to support knowledge transfer and application.
• Mentor/coach staff to support knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to service delivery improvements by communicating client feedback.
• Undertake routine administration tasks following current processes.

What we are looking for

• This position is based in Med Spain, and covers the relevant activities in that area for Existing vessels, New Construction, Materials & components. Occasional work outside of this area is also expected to cover business needs. The role is primarily dealing with the survey of Existing vessels and Materials & components activities and will be appointed at Surveyor or Senior Surveyor grade depending on experience and skills.

The Role

• Conduct relevant activities and provide knowledgeable advice for service delivery within one's own area of experience, ensuring compliance with budget constraints and contractual requirements.
• Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, adhering to defined formats, and meeting deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
• Discuss and present deliverables with internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary.

What you bring

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

• A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two-year programme), or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
• Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
• Working towards or attaining Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
• Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics .
• Previous experience of verification processes, product and rule development and project management with experience of delivering technical services and products within defined budgets and timescales.
• The ability to utilize a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
• Capability to apply suitable theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.
• Proficiency in technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management.
• Proficiency in the English language that is suitable for the nature of the work.
