dLocal is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join the Payments Performance team in Barcelona. You will design and evolve systems powering payment routing, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection to optimize conversion, take rate, and cost control while ensuring compliance.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable Java-based solutions, shaping technical decisions and driving platform improvements in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science.
• 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Solid Java app development & software architecture background.
• Strong knowledge of OO design principles & design patterns.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, readable code.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP (desirable).
• Experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• High-level project management skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with collaboration across teams.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.
• Familiar with SDLC and production telemetry tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, ELK).

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with tech leads and product to translate goals into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and systems.
• Lead architecture and design of Java projects for scalability and performance.
• Create scalable architectures for Java-based applications with growth in mind.
• Optimize performance through code, queries, and resource tuning.
• Troubleshoot design flaws and bottlenecks to improve stability.
• Validate tests to ensure flexibility and scalability of the Java environment.
• Conduct performance tests to identify bottlenecks and capacity needs.
• Generate and present detailed system reports with metrics and recommendations.
• Conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.
