Job summary

Jobgether in Spain seeks a Staff Backend Software Engineer for a partner company. You will build a distributed transaction platform supporting secure cryptocurrency transfers between financial institutions, fintechs, and exchanges.

Core work centers on Go and PostgreSQL, with cloud engineering and AI-assisted development shaping architecture and production practices. You will mentor engineers, own critical production systems, and collaborate with product, compliance, and customer-facing teams in

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend experience delivering end-to-end projects.
• Expertise in distributed systems design and failure handling.
• Go proficiency or strong production experience with a statically typed backend language.
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge including multi-tenant data management.
• Cloud engineering with AWS or GCP, IAM and managed databases.
• Experience with AI coding agents in development workflows.
• Strong written communication for remote collaboration.
• Security fundamentals for data encryption and access control.
• Knowledge of crypto, blockchain concepts, or related regulatory domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core components of a distributed transaction platform.
• Ensure data correctness, tenant isolation, and auditability across systems.
• Improve scalability and maintain predictable latency as volumes grow.
• Produce technical design docs and review architecture proposals.
• Integrate AI coding agents into development workflows and ensure safe production code.
• Collaborate with product/compliance/customer teams to translate requirements into software.
• Own production systems including tracing, alerts, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support platform reliability.
