Job summary

Jobgether in Spain is seeking a Senior Backend Developer (Go) to architect and implement reliable, scalable backend services for a modern energy trading platform. You will leverage Go expertise and AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.

You’ll work remotely, mentor peers, and contribute to system design, security practices, and performance optimization in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend software development experience with system architecture responsibility.
• Strong Go proficiency; Rust is a plus.
• Experience optimizing high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Strong DB schema design, query optimization, and data handling.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and scalability.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Security knowledge including OWASP and secure coding.
• Hands-on with cloud-native infra (containers, Kubernetes, service meshes).
• Excellent English communication and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services prioritizing performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Translate business requirements into precise technical specs for AI agents and developers.
• Review pull requests for both human and AI contributions.
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to deliver functionality.
• Promote test-driven development with automated tests and CI/CD integration.
• Design and optimize database schemas across relational, key-value, and time-series databases.
• Apply secure coding practices and address vulnerabilities.
• Monitor latency, throughput, and scalability for demanding workloads.
• Mentor other developers and share engineering best practices.
