Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a software engineer to join the Observability AI team, building the Kibana UI, context and detection pipelines, and autonomous investigations.

You will collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and data scientists to turn telemetry into actionable signals, enabling SREs to diagnose root causes and drive remediation across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Two+ years developing apps with TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Using AI to accelerate development, debug systems, and optimize code, while owning outcomes.
• Knowledge of LLM-based systems—agent orchestration, tool use, retrieval, context management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Creative, enthusiastic about technology and software engineering; willing to learn in a distributed environment.
• Knowledge of Observability and Elasticsearch; experience in open source and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build Kibana interfaces where signals, investigations, and findings reach users.
• Contribute to the multi-agent system that pursues root cause autonomously.
• Develop detection and signal generation for baselines across telemetry.
• Contribute to offline and online evaluation infrastructure and dataset curation.
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and data scientists across teams.
