Job summary

Nestlé Nespresso SA is seeking a Software Architect to join the Digital and Tech Team in Barcelona, contributing deep technical leadership for our eCommerce platform powered by commercetools. You will guide architectural decisions, ensure code quality, and drive secure, scalable delivery in a hybrid work setup.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Product, Design, and QA, and requires strong English communication and 5+ years in relevant areas, including hands-on eCommerce experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in the relevant area, ideally 3-5 years as a developer and 2-3 years as a software architect.
• Hands-on experience developing eCommerce solutions based on commercetools.
• Previous experience in code inspection, review and code quality checks.
• Experience resolving technical issues, including those involving third parties.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English at different levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Product Owner and Lead Designer, advising on technology solutions and turning business vision into a technical vision.
• Estimate development effort for new projects and report on progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead design and documentation of software solutions, using commercetools as the composable commerce platform.
• Ensure quality of what we build and alignment with Nestlé strategy.
• Set up and champion development best practices within software teams and ensure adoption.
• Contribute to the Continuous Integration solution, including quality and security checks.
• Help others solve complex technical problems and investigate root causes with SMART solutions.
• Own security and compliance of the solutions in your technology area with internal standards and external regulations.
• Participate in peer reviews and carry out reviews of technical designs, standards, and implementations.
• Be an active part of the Nestlé software architecture community.
