AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to design and automate AI-driven software documentation for end users, developers, and system integrators. You will partner with product, engineering, and operations to build scalable documentation powered by prompts and automation.

The role requires 4+ years in technical writing, strong API/documentation knowledge, and experience with Markdown, YAML, Git, and AI tooling. Flexible remote/office options are provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical writing experience in software documentation.
• Deep familiarity with prompt engineering and ability to design prompts and configure AI tools.
• Strong understanding of documentation architecture and information design.
• Technical comfort with APIs, event streaming, batch processing, system architecture, and data models.
• Proficiency with Markdown, YAML, Git, and version-controlled workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to write user-centered docs.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to improve documentation processes.
• Experience in fast-paced cross-functional product environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, English, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to understand documentation needs and design architecture and automation patterns for multiple audiences.
• Establish documentation standards and governance into the automation system to ensure consistency across user guides, API docs, and release notes.
• Build and refine prompt templates, style guides, and content models for scalable documentation.
• Write, edit, and review documentation to model excellence and validate automation quality.
• Measure documentation impact using analytics and feedback to guide improvements to content strategy.
• Document systems, configurations, prompts, and decision logic so the team can maintain and evolve the automation system.
