Job summary

Siemens Spain is seeking a Staff System Reliability Engineer to lead reliability initiatives across multiple teams. You will define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, build the observability model, and guide engineers through high‑impact reliability practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, systems, or site reliability engineering with production ownership.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets and translate them into engineering decisions.
• Experience with asynchronous, event-driven architectures and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability strategy and set SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical journeys.
• Oversee operational readiness across availability, performance, recoverability, and security.
• Design and evolve observability, dashboards, alerts, and shared tooling.
• Review architectures for partial failure, idempotency, backpressure, and safe degradation.
• Lead safe delivery through progressive rollout, automated verification, and rollback.
• Prove backup, restore, and disaster recovery through tests and simulations.
• Lead high-severity incident response and drive blameless post-incident reviews.
• Reduce toil via automation, self-service, and runbooks with strong access control.
• Mentor engineers in production ownership and promote reliability within teams.
