Job summary

Siemens Spain seeks a Staff System Architect to define and own an end-to-end, scalable platform connecting diverse systems, data sources, and workflows at scale. You will stay hands-on during prototypes or reviews to resolve uncertainties and drive architecture decisions.

You will lead through architecture, influence teams without direct reports, and ensure alignment across engineering, security, and management while balancing performance, resilience, and cost.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering and architecture across multiple systems.
• ADR, C4 or similar models, threat modeling, capacity planning.
• Event-driven design, resilience patterns, and versioned REST/OpenAPI contracts.
• Relational, document, graph, search, and analytical stores; large-scale data modeling.
• RBAC/ABAC, identity federation and SSO, least-privilege IAM, secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture and the roadmap from today’s landscape to it, including migrations and cutovers.
• Translate enterprise architecture into system architecture with collaboration across teams.
• Design component and data architecture with serverless functions, containers, and managed cloud services.
• Define APIs and integration interfaces with clear ownership, contracts, and SLAs.
• Define boundaries and contracts for data ownership and interfaces between systems.
• Architect security and identity incl. role flows, data-boundary controls, and auditability.
• Set and meet non-functional targets for performance, availability, scale, and cloud cost.
• Lead technically across teams: review designs, prototype risky parts, and explain architecture to engineering, security, and management.
