Job summary

Siemens Spain is seeking a Staff Software Quality Engineer to lead test automation and quality engineering across multiple teams in a complex, multi-service environment. You will set the technical direction for the automation framework, guiding hands-on engineers and integrating quality gates into the CI/CD pipeline for reliable releases.

The role emphasizes mentorship and promoting quality as a shared responsibility within the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in quality engineering or test automation for distributed platforms.
• Experience leading testing for multi-service environments.
• Strong coding in Python, TypeScript, Java; SQL & API skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical test strategy across API, contract, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, and resilience testing.
• Own release acceptance from a quality perspective for both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design, build, evolve the test automation framework and CI/CD integration.
• Write and review automated tests, set coding standards.
• Embed testability and acceptance criteria in refinement, architecture discussions, and the Definition of Done.
• Manage test environments and test data to run automation at scale.
• Run defect triage, investigate flaky tests, drive root-cause fixes.
• Provide evidence-based release-readiness input from automation results and risks.
• Mentor engineers and promote quality as a team responsibility.
