Job summary

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Madrid is seeking a Senior Underwriter Surety to join our European team and lead risk assessment for Iberia clients. You will work with the Head Surety Europe to shape local strategy and guide brokers and clients in delivering tailored surety solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in surety and credit risk, strong market knowledge, and fluency in Spanish and English. Travel across Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in surety, commercial banking and credit-risk services.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with multinational clients.
• End-to-end understanding of the Surety value chain.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and debt/capital instruments.
• Mature, confident in communication and negotiation.
• Willingness to travel across Europe; native Spanish + English.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute Iberia Surety growth priorities.
• Underwrite for new and existing clients per guidelines.
• Develop and manage client relationships with brokers.
• Assess credit and transactional risks following processes.
• Develop account strategies to expand market footprint.
• Engage with clients and brokers at market events.
• Mentor younger professionals as needed.
