Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in Madrid seeks an Underwriter Surety to support Iberia and broader Europe with surety and guarantee needs, combining analytical excellence with client relationships. You will assess risk, manage your client portfolio, and collaborate with corporates and brokers across Spain, Portugal and Europe, driving structured solutions and maintaining strong relationships.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in banks, surety insurers or financial institutions with exposure to credit and guarantee products.
• Strong understanding of credit risks related to surety/guarantee structures.
• Analytical and decision‑making skills to assess complex credit and transactional risks.
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Spanish native speaker with proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct risk assessments for new and existing clients, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and client satisfaction.
• Develop and manage your own client portfolio and transactions across Iberia and broader Europe.
• Analyze and evaluate credit and transactional risks with rigorous due diligence.
• Approve transactions within your authority levels and prepare structured submissions for relevant committees.
• Build and maintain strong client and broker relationships through proactive engagement.
• Support Senior Underwriters with execution and monitoring of complex bespoke transactions and key accounts.
• Conduct market analysis to identify changes in underwriting, market and legal landscape and adapt strategies.
• Collaborate with the wider European Surety team to share knowledge and drive improvement.
