Job summary

Loyal Guru is hiring a Software Engineer in Barcelona to help build and scale our SaaS platform. You will work in an agile squad, shaping architecture and delivering robust backend services using Ruby or Golang.

You’ll write secure, clean code and participate in reviews, while collaborating with QA and Product Owners to ensure top quality. We value cloud experience (Google Cloud), REST API proficiency, and strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Experience building SaaS products in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Ruby or Golang and modern backend patterns.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and security considerations.
• Experience with cloud services, especially Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Experience with test-driven development and clean code practices.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, innovative SaaS features in a constantly evolving environment.
• Design, implement, and scale backend solutions using Ruby or Golang.

• As a software engineer, you’ll work in a constantly evolving environment. With the support of the rest of the team, your success will reside in building high-quality, innovative, and fully performing SaaS, in compliance with coding standards and technical design
• You’ll be joining one of our agile squads where you’ll have the chance to peer with the top talented engineers and product experts to create and improve our platform
• Use Ruby & Golang as the development languages
• Design, implement, and scale different solutions, paying attention to writing polished and easy-to-understand code
• Follow and apply best practices in the entire development cycle
• Participate in code reviews and pull requests, helping the team in the improvement of the product’s quality
• Make contributions to the architecture by sharing your best ideas and helping in their execution
• Work closely with other specialists (QA, Product Owners…) to make our software design, delivery, and quality unbeatable
• Help with tech documentation
• Leverage AI tools for assisted backend and infrastructure development, maintaining high quality standards, exercising technical supervision, and verifying generated results to ensure reliability and security
• Follow secure development best practices (OWASP Top 10, secure coding guidelines, input validation, proper error handling, etc.)
• Ensure that any sensitive data (customer data, credentials, secrets) is handled, stored, and transmitted securely
• Protect your access credentials and devices in accordance with Loyal Guru’s security policies
• Apply the least privilege principle when managing accesses, roles, and permissions within systems and code
• Participate in periodic security training sessions provided by the company
• Follow secure version control practices (Git), including code review, approval workflows, and avoiding the exposure of sensitive data in the codebase
• Report any suspected security incident, vulnerability, or breach in line with Loyal Guru’s incident response procedure
• Collaborate with the Security and DevOps teams to implement automated security controls in the CI/CD pipeline
• Ensure dependencies and third-party libraries used in the codebase are maintained and free of known vulnerabilities

• Experience working with Google Cloud
• You have solid experience writing REST APIs
• You have a solid understanding of SQL having strong working experience with its mainline database: PostgreSQL
• You’ve previously worked with serverless technologies
• Experience applying TDD and working with Clean Code principles
• Previous experience as a Software Engineer in a product company preferably
• Working with GIT and the command line is on your daily basis and you understand the benefits of working in a Continuous Deployment environment
• You have in-depth knowledge and work experience with OO languages on the server side, preferably Ruby or Golang
